Long silence
Hello all! It's been a busy few months with ShadowStüg and private commissions.
I wanted to post a quick update to say that Project ShadowStüg will be attending Salute 2014 at Stand TM01.
As the project has grown so large, only the tanks will be auctioned, the other items in the project will be for sale at the show, but to save time and aid staffing levels we will only be holding 2 auctions rather than nearly 10.
The auctions will be 'blind' and bids will be accepted in person at Salute or via a dedicated bidding email address, which I will set up next month.
Some items will be displayed in the painting competition cases as, I intend to use them as entries, the Tanks and 1st Platoon will be on our stand on their very own "Army on parade" resin display board.
If you wish to donate, please use http://www.justgiving.com/ProjectShadowstug to donate to Great Ormand Street Hospital Children's Charity and http://www.bmycharity.com/ProjectShadowstug for Help for Heroes.
To get involved or if you have any queries, please contact me via peacheymodels@gmail.com or Peachey Models on Facebook.
Thanks
Richard

Project ShadowStug Update 2
Project Update 1/10/2013
ShadowStug and the Mars Demonstration Korps-Updates from Richard Peachey
ShadowStug has come a long way since the project began 2 months ago, raising funds for Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital Charity and Help for Heroes.
http://www.bmycharity.com/projectshadowstug -Help4Heroes Donations
http://www.justgiving.com/ProjectShadowstug -Great Ormand St Hospital Childrens Charity Donations
Without repeating the great work @Brennon has done in keeping you all up to date, I shall give you a brief overview of where we are now. You won’t get to see ShadowStug just yet J
ShadowStug is a ‘Hexblade’ making ALL of the variants that the chassis can take. To list them, Baneblade, Hell Hammer, Shadowsword, Stormlord, Banesword, Stormsword, Bane Hammer, Doom Hammer and Stormblade. Not forgetting the historic throwbacks of the Pz Kpfw IV and of course the ‘ShadowStug’. 11 in total!!
Pz Kpfw IV
Now onto the Mars Demonstration Korps, thanks to a generous donation from Dreamforge Games and the Wargames Factory, we have a Platoon of Eisenkern Stormtroopers to accompany ShadowStug.
These will be assembled as an Imperial Guard Infantry Platoon, so for all those Kit Bashing, WYSIWYG and House Rule fans, you have a new platoon. Ideally I would like to see them in 3 or 4 Chimera/Halftrack APC’s, pending some more kind donations.
Their Leaders and advisors will inspect them on a 2ft Square ‘Parade Ground’ sculpted by Munkey Joe Paints and Castings, who are also making resin bases for the Eisenkern. Forming an ‘Armies on Parade’ Display board.
The creator of ShadowStug, Dr Krupp-Porsche will be sculpted by Josh, we will have an update on his progress next month.
Toroton Super-Heavy Tank-Updates from Matthew Davies
An update on the Toroton super-heavy tank hunter, the tank has so far been influenced by the A39 Tortoise, one of Britain’s experimental tank hunters from World War Two.
The areas where parts are missing (sides and rear) are awaiting custom pieces and build work. These will be made from plasticard, and sculpted, in the case of the rear section. The side panels will mimic the shape of the A39s, but will be adjusted to the hull of the Baneblade.
The front end has been completely reshaped to match the curved glacis of the A39. The front axles/wheels have been raised a bit to be flush with the armour plates, and to provide a smoother transition for the sculpting. A wheel on each side had to be removed so it would work. The front end still needs sanding, but for the most part the sculpting segment is complete. Once that is done, I will add little details like towing eyes and stowage. Next on the sculpting list is the upper area (casemate) and gun mount.
For colours, I plan to go with a British light khaki/drab colour, much like the standard colours on World of Tanks. I may add Imperial insignias, but I am tempted just to use British/historical markings.

Project Shadowstug Launches 1st August 2013
A new charity project has been announced by Peachey Models.
The project aims to raise over £1000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Help For Heroes, by auctioning off two bespoke Warhammer 40,000 super-heavy tanks, as well as a small number of additional items. The models will be based on Games Workshop’s Baneblade kits.
The kits and supplies for the project have been donated by Wayland Games and Beasts of War.
Richard Peachey, the man behind the project, said: “This project is a great way for the war-gaming community to come together and raise money for a good cause. The winning bidders will be helping two very important charities, and will be the proud owners of two very unique tanks.”
Regular updates will be posted on the Beasts of War website. Both tanks will be sold built and painted to the highest bidder, alongside custom-made commanders for each tank.
Richard added: “I have initiated discussions with South London Warlords and Salute about hosting the Charity action at Salute 2014, which gives us 6 months and a labour of love to complete the project.”
“So many people have offered their help and support including Josh Eteson, Matthew Davies off of Power Armoured Metal, Warren Johnston off of Beasts of War and Stuart Mackaness from Wayland Games.”
Richard will be producing a tank dubbed the “Shadowstug”, a tank based on the World War Two sturmgeschütz, a well-known German tank destroyer. The tank will be accompanied by a Krupp-Porsche inspired “tank designer” 28mm model, custom sculpted by Josh Eteson.
The second tank will be built by Matthew Davies of Power Armoured Metal, and will be based on the British prototype tank from the same era; the A39 Tortoise. It will include a British styled tank-commander figure.
The money raised will be split evenly between both charities.

Project 'Shadowstüg'
Project ‘Shadowstug’
Brief
Our mission is to build ‘Shadowstüg’ and sell it on a
popular auction site for Charity (TBC). Your support and assistance over the coming
months will be greatly appreciated.
History
In the 41st Millennium there is only war. To save
the Human race, now called the Imperium, a talented Engineseer Dr Krupp-Porsche
on the Forge World of Mars commissioned and built a single Prototype Super
Heavy Tank, using the commonly used Mars Pattern Standard Temple Construct
which the Baneblade and Shadowsword variants are based; He designed the
Panzerkampfwagen Sturmgeschütz XL colloquially known as the ‘Shadowstüg’.
The Shadowstüg was unique; its Volcano Cannon gun-mount was
moved forward to make space for an uprated MR507 v18 Multi-Fuel engine, gearbox
and improved suspension, making it fast, by super heavy tank standards over 30
Km/h Cross country and faster on roads. Making such a fast vehicle meant losing
weight, as an ‘Assault Gun’ its rear and Side armour was reduced to 180mm
rather than the 220mm of its sister variants, this made it as strong as the
front of a Leman Russ. After initial field testing Dr Krupp-Porsche needed to
work on its side armour and Track protection, by adding Side Skirts.
These Skirts were 40mm thick, bringing its side armour back
on par with its sisters, the use of these skirts had one major drawback; the
Side sponsons had to be removed, making it vulnerable to close ranged infantry
attacks.
These alterations to the Standard Temple Construct meant that the Shadowstüg looks remarkably like the Sturmgeschütz IV of AD 1943-1945 designed by Dr Krupp-Porche’s ancestor Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach for the 3rd Reich during the 2nd World War of Man.

Dwarf Army Project and Rush #2
So the Dwarf Army Project is blipping away in the background, like a good Regu Sauce.
The International Brotherhood of Hobbyists ran a speed painting competition 'Rush #2', I thought it would be a good reason to do some more of the dwarves.
So the theme of the competition was 'Scouting Party' I chose the front rank of the Rangers :D
